If some of the stuff shown on TV is actually to be believed, possibly due to the living conditions they are willing to put up with. A programme on the other night reported that one group of over 20 were living under one roof together. Right or wrong, I'd guess most natives wouldn't want to live like that.

I'm not saying TV is unbiased/not sensationalist. I merely mentioned something I saw on TV the other night and quite clearly clarified my point by saying 'IF some of the stuff shown is to be believed.......'
Even though I am perfectly aware that TV programmes often have an agenda, are you saying that what I mentioned doesn't happen?
And what are you on about regarding the extent of claiming? It might just be me, but I don't follow what you mean/who that comment is about??

"Natives" as you called them seem to be able to work the system to get what they want.

The Trooper, I don't really get why you seem to be coming at me with an argumentative attitude. You asked a question, I offered an explanation, to which it seemed like you were almost dismissing and in your last comment, you've pretty much said the same as what I said??? (i.e. immigrants aren't so bothered by living conditions, or at least what we 'natives' expect).

What people forget is that to go to another country to work, straight away it shows you have a certain level of get up and go. All the lazy ones will still be in Poland, Lithuania etc.
Also a Polish girl i know says can you stop calling them East European. Poland is in central Europe.
(I have, or do work with approx 20-30 non UK workers).

Maybe we need a war to really toughen us all back up again
That would be fun, the slaughter is always an issue, but people often look better in uniforms, so every cloud

Stop paying ALL benefits and see what falls out of the result ...... then award payments to the genuine after assessment.
The benefits bill will be halved within 6 months ... put the money into the NHS (for UK residents only).
Let's take Britain back for the Taxpayer ........

How else to keep the poor in line? Police and guns? That always fails in the end.
Back in the 19th and early 20th century...at the height of Capitalisms worst inequalities...there was much more radical politics and political unrest than now. Desperate people don't have so much to lose. There is no reason for them to tacitly agree with your social system.
