It will be the 1st time ever i cant get more than 2 stages in on the Wyedean. Looking hard this year, maybe some careful planning is needed.
Sallowvallets to Speechouse is only about a mile of road travel, although parking will be a problem. Got 45mins to play with, to get out of the stage re park and get into Speechouse. Might push it a little.
I think best bet. Will be
Meet at the start, have a look around
Speechouse, most of the field
Chepstow Park, 1400cc top 10 WRC. Then 90mins to get to
Serridge 2, in time for WRC cars. About the same as last years morning.

Hub failure it seems.

Rolled it a good 8+ times. Luckily it wasn't an abrupt stop. Everyone was fine and dandy just a minor bruise on the driver.

We've already managed to get the engine out of the 106 and into the 205 but it's not going to be ready for the Wyedean.

Sorry guys, really gutted but i'm not going to make it now. Been off work with the dreaded man-flu today and can't see it being gone by Saturday. Long day out in the cold with about 7 hours driving doesn't look the best of ideas at the moment

Seem to always get the lurgy in February and November lately, missed Sunseeker last year with it and had it the week before doing the Tempest as well. I blame our stupid open plan office layout at work, its been doing the rounds lately!

Weathers looking interesting though, hope you have a good day out. Take some good photos if it snows

Have a good one guys, its chuffing freezing out there tonight so expect it to be a bit nippy tomorrow as well!

If the sun comes out i might pop down to the South Downs Stages at Goodwood for a bit, about 50 cars on the entry list i think and its less than an hour away. Still rather be at the Wyedean though!

Well just back in from one of the slippiesrt rallies ive ever been on. Walked about 2 miles of Speechouse, and it was inch thick sheet ice. Cars sliding off at 20 mph. Also some great car control.
Julian Wilks got his 1400cc Nova into 3rd overall, go's to show how slippery the conditions were.
Post my video later, but i got borred watching it lol

and this of Steve Perez. Reminds me of the Titanic

Slippy doesn't even cover it ! it was crazy out there yesterday , we retired on the 3rd stage after breaking a CV joint after skidding into a bank , this video gives you an idea of the conditions , in some places you couldn't even stand up never mind drive !

Clip of me at 18.55.

The 3rd stage was horrendous. it was probably a good thing we did retire as it was only a matter of time your luck runs out and you end up doing some serious damage , a great event spoilt by the weather .

I don't understand why in the name of health and safety we can't use studded tyres in icy conditions !

I enjoyed the event, but I say that as a speccy.
If it had been a full snow event then at least knobbly forest tyres would provide some grip. However, sheet ice, and no studded tyres means no grip.
One question, how many drivers in all honesty, really enjoyed the event?

I didn't enjoy it , as soon as you tried to press on , you became a passenger on some ice

I was right I did freeze my wottsits off, and fair play to all those who finished in one piece. Conditions were atrocious to say the least and photos were not any better.
