And now a certain someone is selling them as not required 'allegedly' for his Evo as he sold the car, and strangely enough you can buy it with an adaptor as well.

How many more reasons can be given for selling these onto the unsuspecting members on here?

Lots of fakes about, seen numerous items on here from vendors - tow hooks, HKS BOV's, Takata harnesses (worst item of all IMO) etc

There seems to be a few vendors selling multipules of these regullarly, although none seem to be traders, how many of an individual (new) item can I sell withoyt being considered a trader, 2,10,100?

While buying a fake filter or BOV, may only damage engines, certain items like harnesses and seats can be potentially lethal - not seen any recently but do recall seeing vendors posting these in the past - I mean a pair of new Bride carbon seats for £500 or takata harnesses for £100 which are BNIB and genuine, really?

Mods should be taking a more proactive approach to this and removing these threads as its obvious since the vendors are selling not just a single item but 10's in various colours all new and boxed regullarly.

this is a very gd guide you have made and i have put a copy of it up on my local club to help the members identify if they have genuine or fakes,

i know the moderators aint on all the time and do this unpaid?? but its only 2 clicks of the button to make it a sticky.!!

i wish the Genuine ones were only 90 quid lol. i paid 250 for mine 3 yrs ago and wouldnt even sell it for less then the new price on some threads,

Done

Just my 2 pence;

If anyone is after these items I think it would be wise to demand HQ photos of the item at the same angles as in the OP. With proof that the item pictured belongs to the seller; for example a piece of paper with username and date etc.

Final points; if the part is a different model or colour or a older/newer version then these comparison pics may not work as even genuine items could vary. Also some people selling may have bought the item in good faith it was genuine, so its worth bearing that in mind before bringing on a witch hunt.

As always, its the buyer's responsibility to do their own checks and homework to make sure its all ok and legit. All we can do is try and get the information more public so people know the score and what to look for

The good news is after speaking to a fellow member of SWS he read this thread after I pointed him to it and he avoided buying one of these 'genuine' HKS items.

The seller even offered it to him for £40 as this thread must be having an effect on sales and the seller must be quite desperate to offload his stock before he gets lumbered with it, the potential buyer did request some close up pics of the 'genuine' item and surprisingly never got a return to his PM.

On another thread another well known seller of these 'genuine' items did receive a request for the close up pics he was promised, but mysteriously that post has now disappeared.

You know the thread I am on about the one where the seller requests that members do not spam up his thread with questions about the legitimacy of the goods he is selling.

This thread would be seeming to be doing it's job, let's hope that enough members get to read it before they get potentially stung.

It was me who was asking for the detailed pics on his thread , i wanted to see if he could prove what He was claiming , after reading this thread i knew about his previous sales and knew they were fake , so rather than tell him to f€$k off i thought id request detailed pics , then i recieved a quite nasty pm

I also saved another member on his thread you had just said YHPM

Dropped them a message and he pulled out at last minute

I didn't start this thread so we could have a witch hunt. Use the guide to inform yourself as best you can then use your judgement when making a purchase.

I got emailed a copy of your unedited post and I'm pleased that you have that info. I'm sure people don't want to go publicly naming sellers for obvious reasons. Somebody might get named by mistake and have their reputation ruined unfairly.

Word gets around by other means anyway.

Intresting read lads and thanks for the heads up.

One thing tho, if you have proof that a member on here has been and is selling fake products why has no one named them and linked the thread so we can avoid this seller in future ?

deffo a ace post, more of a browser on here (as you can see by time and posts) but i feel these people should be outed i just about bought some fake nuts a while ago but asked for pics after reading up on fakes and how to spot them, and guess what i never got them, it wasnt on a forum it was the bay, i deffo think someone selling fake's should be outed as i would hate to know that someone has been seriously hurt or killed due to a set of fake wheel nuts coming off the car at speed due to them stripping as we all know a scoob isnt for driving miss daisy,

Most of the points outlined in the guide still apply to the older version. Mine's a version 2 I think and I was able to confirm it's pedigree using the points in my own guide

I removed one of the fake POS HKS SSQV's from a mate's car. The car drove like crap with it fitted and it was going off when the car wasn't even making boost and there was huge lag after gear changes that vanished once a standard one was re-fitted.

What a waste of money these are

Well it looks like a result of sorts; in as much as the main seller of these dodgy BOV's along with quite a few other 'genuine' items has now left Scoobynet.

It was not anyone's intention to chase anyone away but I hope he left out of embarassment and not to avoid cheesed off members.
