Brown is the earth, IIRC.

Hard to explain, easier to do.

Undo the aftermarket crap, snip the wire that goes to the centre of the bulb holder - that's your live for the fog light. Pull that wire through back into the boot.

Rear cluster, must be drivers side, MOT failure otherwise, remove the harness. One screw holds it in place. Remove the live feed for the reverse light from the distribution block and snip the terminal off the end.

Join the 2 wires that you've snipped back together and you're sorted.

That's how I did mine, would take a picture but it's too dark out.

Edit to add, all the earth's on the rear light cluster are brown from memory, so leave them in place.

I finally managed to avoid the rain and wire up my fog light bulb instead of the reversing light.
Purchased a pair of red led,s from halfords, they are 19 red led made by prism led3829r £12.99.
I firstly cut the brown wire that goes to the back of the reversing light bulb holder, then using a bullet connector i connected a length of wire(black 6 inches long)to the brown wire,i then used a volt meter and worked out that the white wire with red trace was the fog light wire.I then connected the other end of the black wire to this and hey presto you have one working red led fog light bulband dont forget to use electrical tape on the end of the brown wire which has been cut on the reversing bulb holder!

Please note, you do the above at your own risk.
No liability taken lol

Good effort!

Apologies for getting the earth wire colour wrong above, my memory isn't quite what it was.

I have just bought a RED LED bulb for mine, should have been a straight swap with a normal bulb I would have thought.. But with the LED in place and the fog light switch off the LED bulb still lights up only with some of the LED's on and some dimmer? when you turn the switch on all the LED's Light up as it should.

All works ok with a normal bulb in BTW
Any Ideas?

I thought I read on here some guy saying that LEDs are polarity-sensitive(?).

In which case, try turning it through 180 degs and then refit into the holder. Can't do any harm...

Thanks for the reply Joz, I did try that and still no go, but I did mess around with the wiring on the switch and removed one of them, which seemed to have done the trick
