Yea that was my thoughts as well

if anyone knows or has friends in high places and contacts and would like to put some other options up for zippy when he comes back on and make a few calls to some big event places locally then feel free. I'll try do the same but I have no experience in these kind of events so wouldn't know where to start.
I just started the list as he is a locall lad and has turned pretty busy within 6 hours and I'm sure zippy will be very shocked too.

So this is a post for the OP just so he can keep up to date with numbers

Looking at the numbers so far
31 people on the list in this thread (one commented that they would potentially be bringing 10 other) so round it up to 50 to give wiggle room

The facebook page started by WestYorkshireCruise on your sons behalf - https://www.facebook.com/events/264371197015506/ has at current count 113people marked as attending so round that up to 120 and so far that is a potential of 170cars so far

Now in order to avoid it going crazy i can see a few options

Lock down the number of people coming but that would be difficult due to it going viral

or

Find a new location, Due to the number of cars it may require speaking to councils to see about using multi-storys, town car parks, greenland (IE the playing field on the way from Dewsbury to Wakefield where they just built the new changing rooms) or businesses

With this number of cars it may be worth contacting the police to advise what is happening/get some of the high pursuit cars to come down keeping people on best behaviour and to let your son poke about in

If i can help in any way let me know

Edit:

Right i have had a thought about some locations that may be possible if they are any help to you

Dewsbury Town centre car park - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=dew...d+Kingdom&z=18 Looks to be very large but may require permission from the council/police to be made aware, also would require some signs in Dewsbury Town to be put up showing people where to go

Galpharm stadium car park - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=The...dersfield&z=17 - would need permission from Galpham stadium/mabey police made aware - easily signposted

Field across from Heath cottage on Wakefield road - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Wak...d+Kingdom&z=17 - would probably need council permission and police to be made aware but easy to get to

I tried to keep them local to the area incase you cant travel very far, im not trying to tread on toes or anything but im assuming you have more on your mind at the moment

This is devastating news I've just read on my feed that literally brought me to tears. This is literally everywhere now, Unfortunately my car is off the road, I'm hoping some of the MK2s can come along and show our support for your little boy, I know some have already clicked on your Facebook link and thanks to those that have.

Also been linked to the MK2 Seat Ibiza Owners Club.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/350033151703517/

I've linked them the Facebook meet page you have set up.

This little boys turnout is going to be the biggest ever and he deserves every bit of it.

Respect to everybody that can make this as special as possible for him.

My loves goes out to you and your family zippy!

Zippy, all - greetings from Audi-Sport.net

Apologies if this post comes across in any way clumsy or disjointed - that's of course the last thing I intend.

I thought it might be useful to make you aware that one of our members (JMerrie) has just brought this meeting to our attention. As I've said on the thread 'over there' - I couldn't hope to find words suitable enough to address your situation, so I'll simply say that I'm here to offer my (/our) unreserved and sincere support.

Of course we don't want to complicate things or cause organisational headaches, so if the situation is such that there isn't capacity for any potential attendees we may have, or you'd rather we keep clear for any other reason at all - please don't hesitate to say.

If it is acceptable/practicable for some of our guys to join your number and show support, I expect I'm far from alone in being keen to. To that end, I've added some guidelines to the thread requesting our members form an organised list which we can communicate to you/you can keep tabs on. Likewise, if having a direct contact at ASN to liaise with would be helpful - please drop me a PM and I'll return some details.

If there's anything else at all we can (or can't) do, please don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerest regards,

Rob
Audi-Sport.net Administrator

PS> I'm conscious that linking other forums isn't really good etiquette - my apologies for doing so - but I figured it's unlikely that we're going to poach each-other's members, and again, that a heads-up might be useful. Please amend accordingly as you see fit.

Just had a thought about locations.
Obviously it's up to the OP what he wants to do if he wants to restrict numbers or move the venue but the following would be suitable:-

Junction 27 M62 retail park. Two big car parks, one is a multistorey owned by ikea and the other is run by a management company, they may open for access as a one off?

Or

Meadowhall car park, off M1. I know there are organised car meets there on a Monday night once or twice a month.

Just a couple of ideas.

That is awful news. Sorry for your news Zippy. My thoughts go to you, your misses and family.

I would hate to be in your place . Having a couple of kids myself I cannot think of what you are going through.

Depending on work I could make this?
