Default Getting the right fit on a helmet - HELP!!

After having my RST helmet for 8 months, its not fitting well at all, probably due to buying the wrong size in the first place

I've been looking at the AGV GP Tech, but after trying on a Med and Large, just can't convince myself either is the correct fit. Medium was a squeeze to put on, but feels snug when on with no movement. Large was obviously easier to get on, but had very slight movement side to side when I shook my head.

So my question is, is it possible to safely add more padding to a large or trim a bit out of a medium?

Tried on several other makes, and pretty much the same situation Must have a weird shaped head

Any suggestions as to how to get the best fit appreciated

Medium sounds right for you in that make
I wouldnt add more padding and certainly not take any out
Just need to try in shops and at shows.
The two most expensive and arguably the best Shoei and Arai have quite different fittings and each make suits some people but not others

a new helmet will give a little, but not much, if the med is snug to get on but feels good when its on then its sounds like a good fit, there are 100's to choose from, hein gerricke usually have a good selection, every helmet is different, try as many as you can and you will find a good fit in the end

It should be snug, and with the strap done up try pulling up on the centre back of the helmet, as if your trying to roll it forwards and off. Padding will compress a little with use. A loose fitting new helmet will only get more loose with age. When you put the helmet on or take it off pull outwards at each side to help.
Info on this site may help you decide. Different manufacturers sizes and fit will be different. Try before you buy.
