There are loads of decent B&B's over here, some of the hotels have not bad rates either

Secure parking? Dont think any B&B or hotel has that here. The Hilton has a car park watched by cameras but thats about as secure as it gets.

We have virtually no car/bike crime over here mate, I have parked my bike on the prom and forgotten to take the keys out and only realised at the end of the day but the bike was still there with the key in it when I returned.

With living here I have no personal experience of any of the B&Bs but I have never heard any outlandishly bad reports on any of them

I have a friend whos parents own a hotel called Sugarlands on Douglas front about 2 mins from the sea terminal, dunno what their rates are like but I wouldnt imagine it would be that much. The owners are Chinese and lovely people, oh and the food in the restraunt is awesome

When you planning on coming over? How many of you are coming? I can have a word and see what their rates are.

PM me the details if you prefer

I too had the same concerns about security when I went to Kerry in Southern Ireland, on arrival I asked of the agreed garage parking "you can park it in the garage if it helps you sleep better but it will be fine on the drive" she replied, where is the best place for a steak I asked "in the town centre" she replied, where will I park the bike safley ? I asked, "well outside on the road is where most people park, and take your keys in with you if it would make you feel better" I parked outside by a window locked and chained it went in and was asked would I like a table? to which I answered "Yes that one by the window" I soon realised that there was no need to think of theft like we do back home, I too have been told that the IOM is also a low risk area for theft, and if the Chinese is the the same restraunt that I went to, then CupraDave is right it is very good, have a good trip. Mike

Contact oldsplice on here for a great b&b we stayed there. Quiet square, good wobble to the front and also walking distance to the start/finish straight of the TT should you fancy walking up.

No secure parking but you can't get the things off the island so it just doesn't happen.

Mind your speed though. In towns they are (rightly) very strict.

5t.
