Default New battery for bike - advice ??

Having just renewed my battery on my little Honda vfr400 nc30 obviously want to make sure I get the best out off it , its the type where you pour the small bottles off acid into the battery terminals and replace the top seal off the battery casing, so okay just give it a good overnight charge now ??

without going to the expense off buying an optimate etc battery conditioner during times when the bike is not used ie during the winter months would giving the bike a 30 minute ride be enough say every second week or so just to keep the battery charged up and not let it deterioate ( spelling ???!! )

Never bother with a charge after filling. Just leave it a while and off I go. Think the destructions say something similar.

As for the Optimate - just get one. You will NOT manage to take it out every couple of weeks. Trust me on this!

Not a good idea to keep starting the bike for a short time during the winter, better of draining the carbs and using an optimate, theyre not expensive and keep the battery tip top.

Optimate's are excellent, my bike spends 5 months parked up in winter with the Optimate on all the time. 3 years on, battery still working fine.
