Avatar not showing

Not sure if its just my computer but my Avatar does not show up when I post visitor messages or on friends lists

It show up fine under my username when I post though. I've tried deleting and re-uploading and even changing it but still no luck. Any suggestions??

You mean you profile picture or your Avatar as they are different things altogether?

My avatar, it shows as a grey box on my mini statistics and on visitor messages (if you scroll over it it says blu-scoob's avatar) My avatar shows up fine when I post though!! My profile picture is displaying fine.

He's quite right, it is his avatar that isn't displaying. For an example, go and have a look at Connor_Scotland's profile page, specifically the Visitor Statistics section. You'll see posts from a few people, whose avatars are displaying correctly, but as he states, his avatar is simply a grey box.

If I view the image it's displaying as blank 1 x 1 pixel image. I've viewed the image on the same stats page for another user (bioforger) and the url format seems to be the same, apart from the obvious user and date specific items.

blu-scoob, One suggestion would be to setup your avatar again, see if it makes any difference, it could be it was somehow corrupted when it was uploaded.

Tried it with several different pictures and they all just do the same

Yep, their missing for me too! All these faults that we keep getting, including the unread messages not in bold, which we were told was going to be sorted weeks ago, are here to test us i think!

Hi Guys,
I escalated this and expected it was dealt with, I will look into it again now. The odd thing is that its not doing it for everyone, just a select few.

Stu, I have the odd issue when uploading animated avatars; sometimes they don't animate.

The only ways I've got them to work is either multiple retries, or uploading it via the Mod CP.

(ps. mine doesn't work in user groups either)

I've given up trying to get it to work

Already tried:

Smaller image
Image using less disk space
still .gif
animated .gif
.jpg
.bmp

And even nicked Kieran's avatar (which works), but it won't work for me

Sorry mate, the honest answer is its not seen as a serious issue so its quite far down the list of jobs to do. If I could fix it myself I would.

I've done it again, just to make sure but still the same

As it's only a few users who have this problem it's not a high priority, it isn't anything personal against you, it's just the coders will be working on many, many different issues on this and other forums, and, for example, those issues could relate to no users being able to login, obviously more serious than an avatar not showing up on a visitor message page.

Errm, Stu has already said the above in not so many words.

A glitch is a glitch nevertheless and needs to be sorted, which I'm sure Stu and the webteam will do in the not to distant future
