User control panel - "new subscribed threads" section
I note that the behaviour of this section has also changed since the upgrade.
I used to be able to go to the user control panel and immediately see a list of all subscribed threads that had changed since I last logged in.
However, this list now appears to be limited to just a few threads (or maybe it's done on a "if thread is x days old, or if thread has changed in the last x days" basis - either way, I don't see threads that have changed when I go there.
In the event that I'm not signed up to daily updates, I now don't see all truly updated threads I haven't read since last logging in - could this functionality please be restored?
Thanks Stu - does that mean that if I visit the forum and then leave it the list will be reset?
Yes mate, thats how I believe it to work.
Im not over thrilled on it myself to be honest but have grown used to it on the other forums now. It takes a lot of load off the server because that list is maintained for every single user.

Haha - I'm guessing that means there's no chance of a pre-aggregated or compiled view of that data db-side to speed things up then?
Is it worth asking if this can be brought back?

I have already lobbied for it to be brought back and it looks like its not happening. Interestingly, it only seems to both us on SN as no other forums complain about it, including all my whinging friends over on PF. LOL
I use the subscribe feature too as it lists in order of latest update so you can see quite easily if its had a reply since you last looked. http://bbs.scoobynet.com/subscription.php

Interestingly (and somewhat annoyingly) I've also noticed that when I navigated to UserCP this morning, the list DID indeed show the last updated threads, but if I view just one of those threads, the next time I go back to UserCP to see what changed the list of updated threads is then empty
I'd have said that's a bug wouldn't you - I can't realistically look at all of the items unless I launch every item in a new window when I first login to SN and hit the UserCP page!
I could stick an article in the general forum to try and lobby some support for this perhaps if you say you've noticed it too?
If that's the case, why not just get rid of the first part of the user control panel as it's effectively useless now then - it doesn't do what it says on the tin!
