hey folks going to be giving the bay a clean for the first time.

ive been reading up on the forum of how to do it and what to cover etc

i was thinking of using this in combination with brushes etc especially v dirty areas

just wondering what your thoughts were would it be upto the job ?

Did my Hawk when we first got it and it's a ten minute job if that

Used Auto Glym Engine Cleaner/Degreaser and simply sprayed it on everything avoiding things like alternator etc, left it for ten minutes to do it's thing and power washed it off again avoiding the obvious and the difference is amazing

Cheers for the info. Did you use a steam cleaner to attack really bad spots?

Or just agitate with a brush then pressure wash the hole Bay?

Autoglym engine cleaner is really good stuff - after seeing the above pics I will do mine soon

apart from the alternator are there any other areas that its best to avoid lancing with pressure washer ?

Way i did it

Remove the battery and wrap up the terminals
Covered coilpack and alternator with a few bin liners
Boost solenoid wrapped up
Cardboard over the tmic fins so they dont get bent

Engine degreaser mixed with some Tar and glue and a toothbrush worked a treat.

I was to nervous to use a pressure washer tin foil is the best if you do go down that route though to wrap the electrics

Best is autoglmn engine cleaner and plastics and vinyl cleaner and a selection of small brushes and a spray bottle woth hot water and take your time and it could take a few hours ( in my case days ) to do it right
Good fun and very rewarding so make sure you take before and after photos
Autosol is your best friend and cotton buds when your as Sad as me

A great Example of what can be achieved with AG and brushes

Tesco all per purpose cleaner is good for degreasing areas as well bit AG is worth it
Small pastry type brushes from bm bargains are better then tooth brushes
