Just run out of my Swissvax carbath and i'm itching to try something different for a change.

In the 3 years i've owned the car it's never had anything but Swissvax/Swissol products used on it. I've only got maybe 10% of my Swisssvax Shield Wax left as well. So any recomendations wouldn't go amiss :thumb:

Car is a 2003 STi in Silver btw :D

Your car being silver Swirls marks wouldn't really be that visable, unlike the WR Blue (mine), so skipping the first product being the Menzerna maybe try the Blackfire range, it always seems to come highly reccommended, Shampoo wise I use Meguiars Gold Class, after a 5min soak using a foam lance with Super Snow Foam,heres what I have been using the last month or so:-

I`m big on using Swissvax products too. As for shampoo the Swissvax carbath is a little expensive as good as it is, I`m now using Megs Shampoo Plus, it`s about 15 quid and you get a gallon.
As for a wax, I`m using Swissvax Best of Show, but also use Zuffenhausen on my van and any other cars I do.
I`ve tried loads of products but always come back to Swissvax :thumb:

Chemical Guys Body Wash and Wax is V.good.

Shampoo wise I'm currently keen on the Dodo Juice "Born to be mild" which is £8.95 for 250ml so is cheaper than Swissvax Car bath of the same size (plus prices have just gone up!)
OK these shampoos are not cheap like you get in Halfords BUT are pH neutral and wax safe.
If you really do want to try cheap though look for 3 for 2 offers on Johnsons Baby bath (NOT shampoo) as I'm hearing a lot of good, gentle car cleansing reports on this but admit I've not tried this myself (but may do!)

Not too bothered about the price tbh. Just got a itching for something else, but if the general opinion is that Swissvax is the best i'll stick with that.

Anybody used the Werkstat stuff??? As Tim says the shampoo needs to be "Wax safe" and hopefully PH Nuetral

Megs Shampoo Plus is really hard to beat; you get a gallon for £17, and it doesn't strip waxes, not even fussy high-end ones like Vintage, etc. If you wash your car often, it makes a lot of sense.

In terms of finishes and the best products for light metallic finishes, Werkstat beats all high-end waxes hands down. For the last six months of owning my silver Leon I used Vintage on it, but come sale time it was back to Werkstat, as it wins hands down in terms of glossiness and reflectivity, plus it pops the flake like you wouldn't believe. First post indicates new lsp suggestions welcomed too, and believe me, I'll not be using any waxes again on silver - granted the big boys give greater durability per application than most other products out there, but that's it - I can't see any other benefits, and certainly not in terms of aesthetics! :)
