I've been looking at Menzerna 3d3.02 and Poorboys ssr2.5. My car is bmw sapphire black with light to moderate swirl marks. I'll will be using a machine buffer.
Cheers

Hi mneame, I've got a silverline polisher it is similar to the Makita polisher.

which one orange or blue? not that it matters a huge amount. the orange one is said to be a little better than the blue. def go for the menz. i find that the pb goes dry to quickly and doesn't give a long enough work time with the silverline.
what pads are you using?

It's the orange 1, I'm using the pads that came with it, Blue Red and White and microfibre cloths. Any ideas what speed I should be using with Menzerna 3d3.02

i have the blue one and iirc it operates between 600rpm and about 2000? with the settings shown as 1 - 5. with the rd3.02 i start spreading on setting 2 with a medium pad and work until it starts to go clear. then a little spritz of qd i find helps at this stage, work up through speed 3 then 4. once clear a couple of passes and then back down from 4 to 3 to 2. buff off and check. i then find that it's ready for the finishing pad and a lighter polish or another go of the rd3.02 followed by either poorboys black hole or white diamond depending on the car colour and then top with a good paste wax.

Nice one Matt, and cheers for helping with the advice. It's almost always worth following up with 85RD on a polishing pad if you have the time, as this imparts a lot of extra wetness, and takes care of any holograms left behind during the compounding stage with RD3.02. :thumb:

nice work geesta.
Rich - yes been using the 85rd. need to order some more. i've also been experimenting with adding in the black hole / white diamond at this stage with good results.

Aye, we do that too sometimes; either a blob of Black Hole or Blackfire GEP on the 85RD pad can certainly add even more bling prior to the LSP. :thumb:
