Default Underside protection

Hi All,

I hope this is the right section to post in! I've done a search and have come up with lots of varying results so thought I would ask the question...

I've just started to clean the underside the my MY00 Impreza. Nice and easy...except for the 108,000 miles it;s had under it's wheels!

It's all looking great except for the suspension which is starting to show signs of rust appearing along the seams etc. I've started to attack this with the old wire brush and Kurust gel combo:

The underneath is looking nice and clean too, but there are a couple of small nicks I'd like to get filled in (bear in mind this is the first wash it's had underneath!).
Before:

After:

This brings me to my question(s):
  • Other than powder coating, what are my options for keeping the suspension looking good?
  • What's everyone's experiences with the Eastwood Chassis coatings available through sites like Frost?
  • What can I use to coat the OEM underseal with? I want to keep it looking as is, nice and standard.

Please don't recommend Waxoyl, I want a solid, polishable surface!
