Should I clay a new car?

Hi,

Just wondering if I will need to clay a new car?

I've got some Jeffs Prime, and some Jeffs acrylic trigger already, but just wondering if I will need to clay as well beforehand?

A new car doesn't always mean that the paint is looking its best

yes i would just use a fine clay bar if you think you might mark it or something.

You don't "need" to clay, but it would be good to know that you are putting the Werkstatt down on a perfectly clean/smooth surface base.When you're going to spend the time washing and protecting another hour or two claying isn't much. As noted already use a mild clay, very much doubt anything aggressive would be needed. Plenty of lube for the clay too. One other point I always pass on to folk, don't do it outside on a winding dusty day!
I clayed a brand new 1series (okay had done 150miles!) couple months back and even that surprised me as to what came off, particularly the lowers by the wheel arches.

Absolutely. Start as you mean to go on. Chances are it's been sitting in a holding yard for months. Dealer prep is pretty awful. Have a look at the white Lambo Clark at PB done the other month. And remember that's a car that costs over £120k!
