Power button on laptop not working too well
Hi
I hope someone can offer some advice, I know nothing about computers and my local repair shop is closed :-(
The power button on my laptop has become faulty and only works occasionally. Is there anything that can be done to fix it?
I have a lot of pictures etc on there which I need to salvage!
Thanks

MASSIVELY vague question, however, it can usually be replaced, or if you can get it apart, the contacts can be cleaned.
If you only need to boot it once, find the wires and short them to start the laptop.

Looking at it from another direction, you could always pull the drive out of the machine and put it in an external enclosure and connect it to another computer and copy over whatever you want from it. This does of course require access to another machine.

I think both posts above have covered everything but just in case, what exactly do you mean by the button not working too well? Does it just intermittently power up when you press the button?

I can press it and it won't power up. its intermittent. Its only a cheap laptop so I expect its not really worth my looking to repair it.
