500's garage build
Well, I needed a bigger garage and like the area we live in, so decided on a little home at the end of the garden to mess with the cars and bikes, and to store my work tools and bits of crap that you always amass
I started clearing it a couple of years ago, and have been keeping all the above stuff in the house Jen and myself decided enough was enough and started the build (well I did) We want to build an extension and have to clear all the mess out of the house in order to knock the existing kitchen down
the new garage will be approx 5m wide, 10m on the long wall and 6 on the short, Apex roof on the front with a flat bit on the back, oh and a toilet in the back corner
Some pics of the garden as it was
Looking a bit better now it's cleared
Start with the digging
Trenches dug and filled with concrete
Backfilling
Crap pipe in on bed of pea gravel and back filled
MOT/ crushed hardcore going in and as we were at 9am this morn

UPDATE:
since the last post, things have moved on,
Crushed stone pretty much in and level
Visqueen and crack control mesh in and ready for concrete
Concrete going in
Starting to be tamped
got the people that deliver the concrete(seem sound blokes) to arrange someone to powerfloat the base. I'm not happy with the result, although the weather played a little part, it should be shiny and smooth, it's a little mottled and isn't shiny they also turned up completely rat arsed. Guess who wont be doing the base in the extension or getting any recommendations!
Drying waiting for powerfloating
P1sshead powerfloating in action
Going off quite well
End result, gravel going in round side and back
Bricks & block are going up, quite a bit done yesterday, cant find the camera to get a picture though, will get some up v.soon
why is the thread called 500's garage build? your not doing anything , you have just paid a load of people to come and do it, its like me saying 'ste's driveway build, when i got my drive done by some fellas'

Ste,
I've done everything apart from lay the concrete and bricking up,
So to this stage, I've:
cleared the garden
dug the foundations
laid the drainage
laid 10 tons of hardcore (including barrowing it from the front to back)
laid visqueen
laid crack control mesh
carried 612 concrete blocks & 320 bricks to the base amongst sand etc
done general labouring
started painting the walls to give me a head start
will be fitting the roof and tiling it, plumbing, elec, fitting it out etc myself
you got them to do it all, thats why you cant call it that
