Question Honda mower oil change..?

Can anyone clarify how to drain the oil on a Honda Issy rotary 4 stroke mower..?

There doesn't appear to be a drain plug of any sort, so I'm assuming it has to be sucked out the filler/dipstick hole..?

Have Googled the net, but it appears Honda keep service manuals close to their chest as I haven't found anything..!

Loathed to pay for a service when I can do it myself..

there is normally a drain plug on the underside. scrape all the stuck on grass off the underside of the deck and you should find it.

I'm presently changing the oil on my Honda mower. I found a drain plug on the left side of the motor with a 12mm hex head. I tilted the mower and removed it. The oil drained on top of the deck, through a drain hole, and down into a drain pan I placed under it.

I'll take a closer look, as I couldn't see anything underneath on first inspection. Bill, is yours an Issy, if so is this plug on the same side as the filler/dipstick..?

To save me looking for manual.., how much oil do they take, 0.5ltr iirc..?

BTW thanks for the replies , for some reason I've not been receiving email notification of any replies until today..!?

I don't know if mine's an Issy. Look for a hole on the deck. If there's no plug UNDER the motor, they may have made that hole to allow for changing oil. There is no room on mine to drain the oil, so it falls on the deck and down through said hole (and into a pan). Mine's on the opposite side of the dipschtick. It is short of identifying decals. I got it for free while yard sailing. It had a new blade, plug, and air filter. I just had to clean the goo out of the carburetor, and it pulls me right along when I squeeze the self-propel lever.

Only just read this but I have an Izzy and the instructions definately say tip the mower over so the oil comes out of the filler. However when I was taking the blade off earlier to sharpen it I noticed a bolt under the engine which I assume is a drain hole.

I change the plug and oil every two years and clean the air filter a bit more regularly, probably unnecessary but I enjoy faffing with it! I bought mine which is the lowest model on offer at £199 about 5 years back or so and the dealer wanted £125 every year to service it
