or is my diff, fooked?

the car always kinda 'skipped' when pushing around tight corners/roundabouts ...feels like its the rear not following properly = like poor alignment
...other than that it behaves fine

...no excessive tyre wear
...nothing out of the ordinary (its me first Scoob so I have no history in HOW a 4wd fast saloon behaves, nor have I ever had an LSD)

but today while playing with the brakes, I realised that with one wheel in the air, I still cant turn that wheel (neutral and no park brake)
I just get the 'slog' of a gearbox (i.e. the wheel will rock about 30 degrees or so before locking )

i thought all scoobs (classics) got at least a rear viscous lsd, while type r's / ra's got mechanical lsd.

its a 95WRX import

Centre helical diff, rear lsd I believe (there is definately some sort of limited slip diff in the centre and rear).
The behaviour of the wheel not turning is perfectly normal.

Viscous couplings in centre and rear, centre is very soft.

If the car was in gear, with the other three wheels stopped, of course you'll only take up the backlash in all the joints and gears before the wheel stops, if it was out of gear it should have turned but been pretty stiff as you'd have been forcing the rear VC to slip to turn the rear prop and the centre VC to slip as the front prop was stopped by the front wheels.

So redscoob was right ONLY if the car was in gear, if it wasn't, he's talking rowlocks as they say!
