Default bluepoint or luk clutch ????

my blobeye wrx needs a new clutch and ive been ringing around and can get a bluepoint clutch kit which ive been told is made by exedy and could also be a genuine subaru one in the box too , as exedy , blue point , adl and subaru are all the same units ? i can get the kit for £185+vat with 2yr warranty or an luk clutch kit for around £200+vat !
i know from past that luk are good but i also fitted a bluepoint kit to mu old 94wrx and didnt think much of it as it had a high biting point !
which would you use or am i better of going exedy organic ?

Both are good manufacturers If you have high BHP or are pretty harsh on the Clutch I'd go Organic. Out of the both I'd go ADL Blue point as they are pretty much OEM.

niether.

The ADL clutch is far from OEM, it is not made by Exedy unless they have changed it recently.

We've only ever had one ADL clutch, the cover pressing was probably exedy, but the friction plate and everthing else was not. The friction plate hub was completely different, different friction material etc, it was NOT a reboxed exedy unit.

Exedy have the patent on the pull type clutch mechanism and release bearing that you find on many Jap clutches, this is just one reason why so many are just made fron Exedy components.

Zen what clutch would you recomend and cost etc ? i spoke again with exedy direct and they dont seem to list a clutch kit for the 03-05 model ? they list the classic and newage up to 02 but not a full kit for 03-05 as they dont list a cover ? he thinks it will be the same kit as the 02 models use as the plate and thrust bearing are listed the same but they have no listing for the cover and want the number of my old cover to cross it over as they dont know if the 02 cover has the same clamp load as the 03-05 model and dont want to supply me with a wrong kit !
