Hey guys, having some slight problems with my car. Bought it not so long ago as a second car, its a 2002 bugeye shape 1.6 AWD, but have had a niggely problem with it. there is a very slight, but very annoying miss when very low down in the rev scale, also it seems to be down on power.

After lots of trouble shooting it turns out that it's the ignition coil at fault. Frustratingly these are like hens teeth for my car :Suspicious:

I can get loads of ignition coils but non are an exact match for my car, my local dealer here in Donegal quoted me €475 exc vat, I nearly fainted! the part I need is 22435aa020 and there are lots out there with the last 3 numbers different or the 2 number in front of the aa different. Will one of these work on my car and act as a replacement without any other issues arising??? My mechanic said he didn't know as he never came across it before.

Thanks guys.

Hi, i have a few bits for sale off a 2003 subaru impreza STI. All bits were taken off due to upgrade.

VF35. Pulls hard to redline, no smoke or rattles etc, has only ever seen the boost from the PPP STI map, so has never really been pushed.
The Turbo is in mint condition, has covered 38,000 miles, has no play in the shaft and all flanges are perfect.
The wastegate hole does have a very slight, small crack as is common on the vf's. This is not like the normal massive cracks, it is very slight and you can just about see it, will get pics of it tomorrow.

£340

Newage Subaru STI Manifold. Again, has seen 38,000 miles and perfect working order. Does NOT come with up pipe, only the three piece manifold.
Perfect for a porting project without taking your car off the road.

£50

Prodrive Sports Cat Downpipe.
It is in good condition and should fit all uk newages. This is a lot less restrictive than a normal cat but still passes MOT.

£175

2.1 stroker build currently being done to replace a 2.5 unit in a hawk sti (uk ) and been pondering...

2.1 stroker build currently being done to replace a 2.5 unit in a hawk sti (uk ) and been pondering which heads to use with the oem ecu ???

not had much dealings with the 2.0l jdm engines from the hawk to be honest and info is scarce

obviously the 2.0 jdm heads will work perfectly with the ej20 block but what i was wondering is :

a: do the jdm hawk 2.0 heads still use avcs

b: is the mounting points etc for the sensors the same as that found on the 2.5 euro / uk heads ???

the point being is to retain the standard oem ecu of the 2.5 and wiring loom but install the hawk jdm 2.0 heads in place mainly to retain the avcs ( if it has avcs ) and also to match the sensor locations like for like so would be hopeing for a bolt on straight swap with 2.5 heads in regards to loom fitment and avcs?

the earlier 2.0avcs heads from bug / blob seem to have fitment issues with the sensors and cam pickup points look different from what i can see so for now they are disregarded until i know more about the 2.0 heads from the hawk :)

any help would be appreciated as for what it is its proving to be a pain in the ass lol

The issue....

I left Prodriverules some itrader feedback. I somehow managed to post the sale link where my comment should of gone, (half asleep I reckon). All I need doing is this mistake changing, remove the sale link and add my comment.
"perfect sale, credit to SNET. Top bloke"

Fairly certain this is a pretty simple task and would greatly appreciate it being rectified.

Hi all,

New to this Subaru stuff having been an Evo owners for 4 years. Sold that in February and decided I needed a cheap, fun, practical car for my 2 Border Collies to travel in.

Next week i'm hoping to be picking up a 1999 Classic UK Turbo Wagon :)

The car has a full service history with lots of bills, and is in very condition. The only niggle is it has done 139k.

What sort of mileage do these engines go to before getting serious problems? The car is standard apart from a decat and STI back box.

Also, is it sensible to modify an engine of this mileage? I was just thinking along the lines of air filter, fuel pump, possibly a VF30 and a remap.
