Default Second map useage

Do many of you actually use the second (or third etc) maps on non standard ECU's?

And I mean on every day road going cars

Yep on my carberry map. Low boost for warm up / cool down and then once everything up and running and time for the beans switch to high boost

I don't have my ESL yet,I will be getting one soon and as it's my daily car I will be using base map for my main driving until I have tuned the other map to near as perfect as I can get it,same goes for when I add any mods that need tweaking,I will switch back to base map until I'm happy I've got it right. This way I will be abel to take my time on my days off and get my perfect(or as near as) map.
Then I might tune a economy map with little boost for when I'm forced to lend the missus the car(which isn't often thank The Lord!)
Can I ask how long it took you to get your 1st map how you wanted it piehole,,and have you just tuned one map and left the other as base map?

I'm still fiddling with the map but then I'm still changing parts too. Also, I don't have a lot if spare time any more. Currently playing with boost control to try to eliminate a big spike under heavy load. Getting there slowly! I don't use the second map function and had considered using it as a "valet" map with no boost, low rev limit and low speed limit. Could be useful for when it's being painted soon and also if someone decided to nick it!

I'm quiet lucky as I get plenty of time off work I'm really looking forward to getting the ESL and for the extra money I will probably go for the Motorsport pack.
Valet/girlfriend map I like it

Yeah get the Motorsport pack, for all it's costs you might as well. Plus you can set fire to stuff that's behind the car lol!

Antilag makes a hell of a difference to how the car drives, it's like doing the old left foot braking!

I'm very interested to see how these extra features work, had a look at a YouTube clip of Andy messing with antilag and it certainly make the car sound different. Still can't get my head round how the traction control would work? But I'm still reading through all the basics, fueling, ignition, boost,wg duty and all the other things that go with mapping. I must say Andy has done a great 32 page manual on this and I'm enjoying reading it,I will probably read a few times to digest all the info fully before I start tuning.

Yes, read the absolute crap out if that before you start mapping. Saves you having to refer to it every two seconds. The traction control limits the amount of power after a launch for example. It's not something I've played with yet.

That's a little peak at launch control from behind

I've bought the clutch switch for flat foot shift, just have to wire it up!

Do you intentionally turn up in peoples threads just to cause trouble?
