Hey....

I'm buying my first scooby and the car has a VF34 turbo on it.
I know this is a rollerbearing turbo but does anyone know how big the compressor wheel/exhaust housing is? or how does it compare? T2.5 or a T3?

The IHI VF-34 Turbo is found on the limited production Subaru v7 WRX STI-RA (GDB). This turbo is differentiated from the VF30 through it's more advanced bearing design. The bearing design allows for much quicker turbo spool-up (depending on tuning, 300-500+ RPMs over the VF30), while retaining the power capabilities of the VF30. The VF34 is capable of 350+ HP (~300+whp) This turbo is a direct bolt-on for all GC8, GDA, GDB EJ20 turbo engines. This is an excellent replacement turbo for those looking for substantial power gains while maintaining streetability

No such thing as which turbo is best ?,best for what ,the reason there is such a big range of turbos is because they all have different caracteristics and different power potentials.

You need to be a bit more specific in your initial question ie : best at what ? - quick spool up,mid range,acceleration,top end,power expectations, durability,etc Also which td05 are you comparing it to against the vf 34 ,16g,18g or 20g

Apologies on my vagueness,I hav got my 2ltr impreza booked in for a new turbo ,injectors ,exhaust and remap,I hav been advised on the vf34 (ihi) the 2nd part may not be correct.its my first engine mod so was unsure of the turbo,s available and differces,.

my impreza is a uk edition classic ,iv been told ill get close to 350 bhp from the upgrades from greer and remap from andy forest,im not limited by a budget but trying to be sensible,its my everyday car goin to work etc and towing my motorbike.im not looking for the best track car (not yet) just a fun and fast car on the backroads. thanks for the help
