Default Cylinder head skim

Hi, i am stripping my engine on my turbo 2000 due to a head gasket failure, i was planning on sending both heads away for a pressure test and skim, can anyone tell me will i need to increase the head gasket thickness to compensate for the heads being skimmed or will the OEM ones do ?

thanks
Jim

Yes you can but 0.012" is the max you can skim and a lot of warp to remove off a head - have the piston to valve clearance checked to be safe.
It's also worth bearing in mind that if the engine has had serious over-heating issues,it can weaken the tension of the piston rings resulting in poor compression and oil burning problems.
