Default How to remove Aircon Pulley

can someone give me some pointers on how to remove the pulley on the aircon pump. I've removed the belt & bolt from the centre of the shaft but the bugger won't come off & I don't want to damage the pump.

I've done a search but no luck

if anyone has a spare that doesn't have a knackered bearing then please PM me a price.

thanks

If you have success please post what you did as my a/c (compressor pulley) is screeching like a banshee when i turn the a/c on.

I've found cheap (but older version than mine) second hand compressors on ebay not sure if there interchangable with my 2001 bugeye tho!

Have you brought a replacement pulley?

I haven't bought a replacement pulley yet, I'm going to try and replace the bearing itself. mine is noisy when the aircon is off.

Well let me know how it goes - I found this cheap ebay second hand pulley here:-

Subaru Impreza WRX / STi / Turbo / EJ20 AIR CON PUMP on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 13-Jul-08 10:24:16 BST)

Theres a couple on sale on ebay if you search around.

Mine only howls when the center part of the pulley spins.

I'd also be interested to know what bearing it is?

Cheers

After preparing for the worst... I finally got round to checking my pulley... it seemed fine then I realised that it was the belt slipping and screeching! A quick adjustment of the tension pulley and all seems ok .

Did you need to take the whole pump apart to get it off?
