Hi guys. I've decided to remove my Forge BOV and fit the standard recirc valve to my engine. I was just wondering which way round is it supposed to go? The small valve on the top, is it supposed to face towards the intercooler or the air intake? I've got a 96 Turbo impreza EJ20G engine. Cheers in advance

It's a arrow that are pointing in the right direction the air is going. Just make the arrow point against the air filter box. :)

I have an arrow on mine oem bov. And it's an MY96 too.

If you see on the vacuum inlet where the vacuum hose should be mounted you also see which way it's supose to be. You got me? :)

This is a random picture. You see the vacuum inlet on the bov is pointing against the battery. Hope you understand. :) But it should be a arrow there. :P

My dump valve is all silver and doesn't look much like that. I've put it in that way round anyway and all seems well, throttle response seems a little sharper but should my engine be idling at around 1100-1200rpm?

Is it located on the same place? Could it be an aftermarked bov? The OEM is in plastic :( When it's cold it should run a bit higher. When it's warm it should idle right under/around 1000rpm. Mine idle at around 900rpm. Some idle even lover. If it dumps nice and the idle is stable it should be nice. And that it hold the boost stable.

Its in the same place as the one in the picture. I've no idea if its aftermarket but it has no distinguishing marks on it such as part numbers or manufacturers details. I was sent it by a guy on this forum who I bought another part from at the time. I don't think my engine idled quite as high on the forge BOV i had on before so I'm a little puzzled.

If it's leaking you would not gonna get full and stable boost. And so long it idle stays stable it should not be a problem. If it opens it will almost die out. But is the boost right and stable?
