hi guys,

how exactly do mafsims work?

what inputs do they have? map and tps?

are these units just plug and play (all the same) or do they need to programmed to a specific tune? if so why?

cheers :thumb:

MAFSIM is a box with microcontroller inside performing a speed density calculation based on RPM, MAP and TPS to generate a 0-5v engine load (MAF) signal.

Output can be modified to give usable output for various RPM and MAP ranges, TPS sense and range etc, but it does not simulate a specific MAF, so a custom MAF curve must be programmed into your ECU.

There have been some reliability issues - none causing engine damage but a few MAFSIMs lost their config for some reason.
