Default over boost?

hey guys been having an intermiting prob with the car since the headers have gone on in 5th gear at around 4000rpm it feels like the boost cuts completely, this only seems to happen on cold wet eves like tonight as earlier before it got dark it was fine infact suprised me how much it boosted when gave it some, any ideas? all ive realy done to it is 3inch turbo back exhaust no cats and stainless headers and panel filter, although do understand that when you change exhaust and de cat these you do raise the boost level.

Sounds like you are hitting the cut. Easily done when changing items that aid air flow (which includes cold denser air). Best to get this all checked out as regards to fuelling / boost levels etc.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Hey, I put full 3 inch system on mine with no cats, Been on for about 3 weeks now had no engine warning lights on but every now and again in 4th or 5th gear when the cars under load it overboosts and I can see on my boost gauge the wastegate fluttering trying to keep the boost down, It used to peak at 1.45 bar but now at 1.6 bar, I've got it booked in at the Engine Tuner down south on the 1st of Sept to get it sorted, I will let you know the outcome.

Johnny2007,
If you just wanted to control the boost, an aftermarket boost controller will solve that issue without the need for a new ecu.
