Default HELP PLEASE!!

Hi guys

i have blue smoke coming out of the exhaust after driving and when on idle before i switch off,after a blip on the throttle it goes

at first i thought TURBO

but its boosting ok
driving ok
no loss of power
no oil consumption

i know its running rich would this cause it

any suggestions

Hi mate check each spark plug see how clean each cylinder is burning ,remove hose from intercooler to see oil contamination into system ,(most common cause is turbo your right )compression test each cylinder hope this helps jon 928

sounds like oil seals on the turbo mate. get a compression done asap. and check for any oil being blown out of the you vta dump valve if you have one

few q's though

1.what is a compression test??
2.how is it done?
3.is it ok to drive?
4.would just changing turbo solve this?

if it is the oil seals then you could change turbo or get it recondtioned. compression test is done by taking a spark plug out in turn leaving the other three in and getting a compression tester it screws into the spark plug hole and has a gauge on the end then you turn the engine over the pressure builds up and should be roughly the same over all four cylinders. that is a very basic run down of how to do it but if you dont have the tools take it to a local garage it would not take them very long. do a search on here mate to find out an indepth procedure on compression testing.

personally i wouldnt drive it very far mate not really good idea def do not go booting it
