Default Squeaky seatbelt?

Does anyone else have a squeaky seat belt?

It seems to be coming from the top plastic bit (near your head/ear).

Nowt major just a little something that I wouldn’t mind sorting, but not sure how as it’s only the seatbelt and the plastic bit it goes through??

Anyone had this/fixed it?

Yea thats it!

Mines a 2004 STI.

At first I thought it was coming from the bit at the bottom where the belt retracts back to but upon sticking your lug next to it you find it the bit where you pull the belt through??? bit odd really as only belt on plastic.

Would be interested to know if anyone does fix it

Had this in my bugeye, really annoying! I fixed it by removing the plastic trim, then put some insulating tape over the plastic ledge that the belt rubs on, worked fine.

Yep mine too, 03 WRX. Bloody annoying and deafened myself this afternoon! I did notice a post about this a couple of days ago about how to fix it but can't find it just now. Think it said something about filing a bit of plastic where the belt rubs on, can't be sure.

I've got a 53 plate WRX and mine's done it from new!!!

There was a post somewhere on here a few weeks ago - think it said to remove bottom B-pillar trim and remove some groves on the inner edge that the belt rubs along.

Default Same here

I have just bought a bug eye 52 WRX - both my front seat belts screech.

I have heard that its the link where the belt is fed through the plastic trim.
Im not going to mess about with this tho as dont want to damage the car.

I find if you pull the belt out gently or slowly this squeek does not happen, it just seems to be when the belt comes out fast.

Hope this helps
