starter motor location
|

On a subaru wrx sti ver 2.
Thought it would be somewhere close to the alternator and the belts but couldnt find it anywhere

It's sort of out of sight.
It's on the back of the engine, under the intercooler on the passenger's side. You'll now be able to easily see it...

hey guys, i was sent this by grade A subaru as a starter motor for 95 sti
but after taking off the intercooler i noticed that my supposed starter motor is different and just includes one barrel with a coil inside and a shaft on another end, is this correct and i was sent the wrong motor ?

I have a 1993 WRX and mine is this pattern. I'm sure all 92-96 cars have that pattern too  . See these links...

Yep, they are different models, the one on the pictures is from the earlier models, mine is from a newer model, but both are interchangeable.
Just changed mine over and it looks like the ones in the pictures.
