Default Do I need flywheel clutch dowel pins?

Just taken a flywheel to be skimmed and removed the clutch cover locating dowels, had to mangle them to get them out..

Do I need to replace them? Do you need to have them fitted?

If so, anyone know where I could get some before the weekend?

Darn!

Thinking about it they are only 6mm steel dowels with chamfered ends, surely I can just make a couple up out of the smooth part of some 6mm coach bolts I have? I know they're nothing special (as far as steel goes) as I drilled them easily.

theres no reason you couldnt make them as long as the clutch cover is a snugg fit on them...... can you imagine how much a clutch cover weighs and how much vibration it would create if it was just a few thou out of centre on the flywheel ?
