Default WRX TYPE R V-Limited

Hi
Does anyone know what this is?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2808151073...84.m1423.l2649

and is it woth buyin and what do i need to look out for?
from what ive read it seems to be the one without the DCCD, no kit, not sure on brakes, has the V4 dash but the older seats?
also the frnot grille is the smaller type with the older front bumper

anyone recognise this car or know anything about it.
thanks

Looks similar to mine, but mines a V4 Type r v-limited with a BIG rear spoiler an P1 front lip.
Still with 280hp standard.
Downside's are the no DCCD box.
Mine's an R reg, but an early 98 model.
So with a bit of sproosing up it will look good.
But if in doubt, hold out for something more to your liking.

It is a V4. The V3 seats are there to celebrate last years rally win.

Same as my Type R

I wouldn't worry about the DCCD, it has ABS instead, which I prefer for UK roads. It's a Type R body so you can tweak and add like I have. I love mine

Ive been told this may be the rare Type R-RA V-Limited.
Considering its totally stock, as mentioned it has all the minimalistic features, ie no kit and small spoiler and the frontgrill is the flush one.

will get the chassis code and see what its worth, ive offered the guy my 2004 UK, WRX PPP, in silver.

How reliable are these engine? on the Type R.

I remember the thread well Gaz but the info gathered for the "Type R RA" was taken from that Barbie and Ken website, or what ever its called....

This site mentions nothing of such a car...http://www.sti.jp/product/impreza/list.html

Why it shares a model code with an RA i dont know, just like i dont know why the pre 96 WRX wagon shares a model code with the pre 96 STI Wagon..

I know what you mean mate, I personally think it has always been a WRX Type R V-Limited because as far as i know there has never been a 2 door RA properly documented by subaru

I beg to differ, unless someone has beaten me to it. Type R RA has a small sticker under the OS rear lamp " type RA "

They are usually WRX RA rather than STi RA.

Chassis codes are STi type R E2DD - F2DD - G2DD
WRX type R RA E27D - F27D - G27D all 'special editions ]

From http://www.type-ra.co.uk/vB/showthre...gc8E27d&page=2

"Subaru have confirmed that there was never a JDM 2 door Type RA. ALL 2 door models are Type R's and no Ltd run of 'special' 2 door RA's was made at any time."

As a newb Subaru owner I can see I'm going to need a degree in Subaru model history. I thought Renaultsport Clio models were a little complicated (Mark 1, 2 and 3; Phase 1 and 2; Cupped and Non Cupped) but nothing like this.

I thought this had already been cleared up in a previous post, The applied model E27D,F27D etc.. were a Type RA chassis with a Type R bodyshell on them,

Now, what differences are there on just the chassis apart from the gearing, as i have always thought the main differences between the cars was on the body shell, Eg lighter, No underseal, soundproofing, No electric windows etc...on the RA

So how does putting a normal Type-R shell onto an RA chassis make it an RA, Granted the only reason it probablly has the `7` in the applied model code is just because it used the RA`s chassis, It doesn`t make it a proper RA the way i see it, but technicaly going by the codes it does even though subaru deney ever making it, I hope that clears it up

Gaz.

Default back on topic

Thanks for that guys, but a little back on topic.

As far as i can see whether its an RA or not, what the fact is just what i can see.

My main interests are whats under the Body!
this is labelled as a WRX Type R V-Limited

so is the engine and running a WRX or actually an STi but without the pretty colours and Alu bits

Does anyone know the engine, running gear specifications?
What turbo do these use etc? and how are they different from the STi, because ive read that this model is standard 280 BHP aswell.

All i know so far is that its got:
No DCCD
No Kit
Crappy Spoiler
Has ABS
Has Roof Vent
V4 Dash
V4 Bonnet, lights
V3 Seats
V3 front bumper
Pink MAF

what else do i ned to look out for as im going to go view this car and its in Norwich. so i dont want to make a wasted trip!

also seen another Type R, anyone know much about this one? seems to have a good spec

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2807781744...84.m1423.l2649

Thanks

Aha, just seen the brochure, so its a Version 4 but with a 280bhp WRX engine, and V-Limited style pack.
No DCCD

So what are the mechanical differences?

Post Continued @ www.Type-ra.co.uk

I didnt buy the car in the end as the current seller, Imprezabreaker, on ebay based in Norwich, did not disclose the truth about the vehicle and the problems it has.
