Cool HDI/Hybrid FMIC - GROUP BUY 2014. Kits from £337.

We have decided to run one group buy per year on HDi/Hybrid Intercoolers as their European Distributors. We used to do these years ago and they used to fly.

This is a good old fashioned group buy where people genuinely club together for a decent saving and an order is then placed for manufacture. This is not just a reduced price sale from our own stocks.

So, you will need to wait for stock to arrive, but you will benefit from jumping on our own next order at the factory with some very decent discounts.

Delivery

£14.99 UK
£29.99 Europe

2 Weeks to manufacture + 4 weeks delivery. If the factory takes longer to manufacture or the shipping takes longer please understand it is not within our control. We have quoted the typical delivery times. By participating in the GB you acknowledge this. If you are in any kind of rush order from our own stocks for same day dispatch at the normal prices.

Payment

PM or email me (aztecperformance@gmail.com) with your contact telephone number so that I can contact you for payment once the GB closes.

Prices

For 10+ participants the 20% discount applies, if there are 15+ participants the 25% discount applies

Kit / Normal Price / 20% OFF GB PRICE / 25% OFF GB PRICE
HDi GT2 Spec Classic models (GC8) - £449.99 / £359.99 / £337.49
HDi X0-1R Spec Bugeye and Blobeye Models (GDB)- £474.99 / £379.99 / £356.24
HDi GT2 Spec PRO Hawkeye models (GDG) - £549.99 / £439.99 / £412.49

Prices include all VAT, import and clearing charges.

Few questions bob

Are they able to supply different colour silicone joiners?

Does the bumper bar need to be cut (as the old type did) or do they supply a new bumper bar?

Lastly does the front bumper have to be cut?

Thanks

Steve

Yours comes as a GT2 PRO kit which utilises the new swanky clips which replace many of the silicon hoses .

The few hoses that remain would be cheap enough to change with whatever colour you choose yourself i you decide to.

Here is a video of the kit being installed on your model:

Bumper bar and bumper need to be cut, as with any FMIC kit.

Actual product pictures of the box contents etc are here: http://aztecperformance.com/hdi-inte...g-hawkeye.html

Hope that helps

GB Closes end of this month, big savings exclusive to the GB.

Whatever happened to these forums, GBs with such savings used to FLY, now it seems like a graveyard with people preferring to pay normal retail prices

Do you have any back to back results of these versus a cheaper fmic?
I'm considering upgrading mine, but I'd like to see some proof that it's worthwhile before getting my money out.

Mine's a blob STi with an SC42 if that makes any difference to what you can show me

Cheers

We've been in the intercooler market for 7 years. We've sold cheap bar and plate coolers, had our own tube and fin coolers made and have also sold the HDi/Hybrid Intercoolers.

The tube and fin HDi/Hybrids are in a league of their own for performance and quality. Bar a plate coolers are cheap and don't do a bad job of cooling, but that's about it. They have pressure drops of 2.5-3x that of the HDi/Hybrid coolers, and that costs you performance.

HDi/Hybrid Pressure Drop: 0.2PSI
Cheapo/Ebay/Japsp Pressure Drop: 0.5PSI

If you're not fussed by performance, buy a cheapo £199 cooler (we used to sell them for £160), if you want a quality product that gives you the best performance, then buy a HDi/Hybrid. People in the know buy HDi/Hybrid:

Sounds good, although I'd still like to see back to back proof.

Also, just seen that there is a 6week lead time from when the GB ends. I'd need it before September if I was to buy one this year. Maybe over winter and ready for next year

Cheers

I don't know if anyone has ever bothered to do back to back tests as there are always too many variables. The only way to do it would be to lab test if 2 or more products laid claim to be the best performing, but the cheapo kits don't make that claim, so therefore there is nothing in dispute. These are established kits going back over a decade. The fact that the cheapo kits have 2.5x the pressure drop of these kits tells it's own story.

We have them in stock for next day delivery at the normal prices, but if you wanted the GB you would need to wait the quoted times. Next GB won't run until next summer.

A member on here fitted a japspeed fmic and lost almost 20bhp over his sti tmic.

He fitted the HDI one i got for him and gained that and more power and easily broke the 400bhp,

The HDI is a far superior product over cheaper ones but perrin (hyperflow)which is now discontinued are top of the range,

It all comes down to costs and how much each person is willing to spend,

Thanks for posting Tom. These are the things people don't factor when choosing a intercooler, it can cost performance.

Perrin are very well made (at 2-3 times the price) but they still don't outperform the HDi GT2 cores which are in a league of their own for performance.

Red silicon joiners are not an option on the kits from Hybrid/HDi, you can however change them easily if you still want to by using joiners from a Samco dealer.

What actually comes in the HDi X0-1R Spec kit? Does it come with a cold air kit or would we need an induction kit too?

All intercooler details and pics on: http://aztecperformance.com/hdi-intercoolers/

Only the Hawkeye kits come with CAI. At GB close I will find out if HDi still do a CAI for your model and if they do we can offer that out as an option for those that want it.
