Hi Stevie : I wouldn't fit it on any of my cars without a remap. Some people will boast that they didn't need a remap but either they fitted something that had little effect or they were lucky and got away with it. The purpose of fitting an efficient FMIC is to ensure the engine benefits and is protected from substantially lower charge temperatures and lower temperatures need more fuel so it is quite probable that you will be operating in areas of your map that have not previously been catered for either on the OE Subaru ECU or with a mapped aftermarket ECU that has not taken in to account the front mount.
My advice is that anybody fitting one of these front mounts should drive gently for the shortest reasonable period before their remap.

Powder coat to any color the pigments come in. It is unlikely it would be an exact match but it could be close. For an exact color you need it spray painted to a color code.Send a sample and I will show you the closest color.

Harvey

Still got one of your orginal and first FMIC but the pipes are a bit worn. Any chance of purchasing a new set of pipes?

Regards Mark

OK guys. This GB was for a quantity twelve kits.
Although we may not reach that number, which is surprising as these kits are a fraction of the cost advertised elsewhere, I am prepared to honour the original genuine price commitment.

Harvey,

Is there a significant difference in between the GT and the GT2 on the Classic? I ask because I have an original GT and am finding that the IAT's rise to nearly 55 degrees so am looking to bring that down. Admittedly the 55 degrees was attained on a day where ambient was 27 degrees but still it's too great a difference for my liking.

If the GT2 is proven to be significantly better than the GT2 then i'm interested for sure. Also, what has changed to the piping?

Cheers

James

Just 123 : Shipping to you tomorrow for you to receive Tuesday.

RS2 JIM: The main difference between the two is the fit of the GT2 is better than that of the GT. If you can get IATs of 55C. there is something drastically wrong and it needs investigation. Generally the temperature differential is 6-12 deg.C. when the car is moving so unless the 55 degrees was heat soak while the car was static there is something far wrong.
While the GT2 will be better than the GT (and bear in mind there was an original bar and plate before that) it will not be by a large margin. I suggest you start looking at areas that might cause the apparent high IATs.
How are you measuring the temperature? Where are you measuring it? At what stage of operation are you measuring it and so on?
If you want my input I suggest you email me harveysmith1@btopenworld.com
The pipework difference is in the fact that the GT2 core has a longer spiggot so there is a slight difference in pipe length, nothing more.
