Prodrive P1 Lowering Springs - Rare Purchase opportunity.

With leverage from the original designer, Eibach will do a minimum 25 set production run, of the P1 spring set.
Part of the P1 suspension design remit, was comfort over longer distances.
After passing on the info/samples, that Scott and I have accumulated, Eibach are also investigating a lowered possibility.
Less compliant rear - same height as the jdm 22b/wr99 - 6mm lower than P1.
Less compliant front - 13mm taller than early, closed, ground top, wr blue/ 8mm taller than the lowered version sti pink -10mm lower than P1.

P1's are measuring 640-645mm on the front & rear (approx.) floor to arch (0n 18s 35 profile)
Pinks Measure 630-632mm (approx.)
WR Blues 625mm (approx.)
Great that we now have Eibach & Co on side though.....

Would it help (or hinder?) this group buy if another Prodrive spring was thrown in the mix to help boost the quantities and be more of an incentive to the supplier?
I'm thinking the Prodrive blue spring for Blobeye/Hawkeye WRX, part numbers W03/D5/001 (2004+ WRX Sports spring kit) and UW4/D5/001 (2004+ WRX spring kit) not sure what the difference is, if any.
These seem to be very hard to come by used (bugeye versions seem more common).
Only a thought as I've been looking for months.

Eibach have agreed to do a minimum run of 25 sets of P1 springs.
They are currently designing a lowered version, taking into account what we have learned, so far, and latest spring technology.
If Bilstein care to send the rest of the data, from the mid-June strut test, then things can move forward more quickly.
The P1 springs will become available, minimum numbers permitting, at the same stage as the lowered and excel-g versions.

blown struts
Noob here. I am thinking about buying struts now instead of waiting on these springs since one of my struts blew. Right now I am thinking about getting the KYB Excel g's since I do not plan on tracking this car and just want a car that's great to handle on the streets. If I go with the lowered versions of this spring on my KYB Excel g's, will this be setup be ideal? What are the differences in ordering the lowered versions vs the P1 spring set?

Phrozen, funny enough i am in the same position as you, just about to order the KYB Excel G Kit for my JDM 95 WRX, so I also would be interested in the answer for this, I was looking at the Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs but hell if I can fit a set of P1 replicas (lowered/not lowered) then I AM IN!!!!!

P1 springs were designed for use on a KYB inverted strut.
P1 springs were also, subsequently, paired with Bilstein inverted struts.
The distance between the top and bottom mounting cups is longer on KYB Excel-g's/AGX's. You really need a longer free spring length.
Moreover, can Excel-g's stand the stress of P1 spring rates? Measurements of Excel-g struts have just arrived.

Having just rebuilt a set of P1 struts and re-fitted them with the P1 springs. I noticed how the P1 springs fitted a lot easier to the P1 strut then they did on my Bilstein.
The Bilstein damper free length is a little shorter and hence you need a fair bit of effort on the spring compressors to get the P1 spring on, along with the top hats etc....
Of all the springs I have fitted to my Bilsteins, over the last few months, the P1 rear was the biggest PITA of them all (trashed the new powder coat too ).
Having just rebuilt a set of P1 struts and re-fitted them with the P1 springs. I noticed how the P1 springs fitted a lot easier to the P1 strut then they did on my Bilstein.
