BTW, my co-workers had been buying from Lin Haw - don't know how they got an account but it's local. Too bad they're all off this week

KGB, unless it's very old stock, highly unlikely. If it is a V5 or V6 of the WRT54G, you can install a "micro" version of the 3rd party Linux firmware. That's what I did for school, since they don't need all the extra bells and whistles like overclocking, xlink kai server, etc.
If you want to grap the Linux variant, go to ncix.com or any other computer shop and see if they can grap you the WRT54GL version - make sure you specify the GL version since this is the "new" linuxed based Linksys device - in essence, a WRT54G version 4.
Linksys got smart. They decided to make two versions of the 54G - one that isn't Linuxable (current version is 7 using a different OS and processor) and the 54GL which IS Linuxable.

I actually have test ADSL+Router unit that has 11g and based on Linux, not much hacking I can do to it but it was a better AP than I have at home right now (LinkSys 11b). I have been lazy about this whole home network setup I have - it's all work and no play in this household and everybody in the house requires Internet at various times

I'm in Toronto with spotty internet.
Darren, I have a very nice thick Queesn sized futon mattress (from Dream Designs) on a new but cheap wooden base that I need to get out of my basement, if you're interested.

Hey Trickster, does your wooden futon base happen to have arms on the side? How much you want? Gotta get the bad engrish in somewhere in the post.
KGB - your parnets got cold feet eh? Buyers remorse? What did they pay for the TV and from where? FS?
Costco had lots of big-screen HDTVs. Most of them usually come with a TV stand too.

I'm sleeping in, and being woken up by the baby talk of my little girl.
She's growing up. She's sleeping in her crib now - she's out of our bedroom.

Dad never really wanted to pay $4K for an XBR (he was thinking a $1500 LG Plasma would do), Mom just wanted the 1080p Bravia, not the XBR, but both of them got "pressured" to buy the XBR since there is no stock of the non-XBR, almost financed it, didn't and ran the $4K on the CC, then finally realized what I was talking about way before we go check out TVs in FS - you need an HD STB to see HD content, new component cables to see better pictures from DVD, and eventually will find our amplifier will need to be changed to a 5.1 to match the much better picture. A big chunk of change following the purchase of a nice TV. Had the XBR not 4" wider and created havoc on our shelf, they might have lived with that decision

Not to mention how crappy digital cable would look on the new TV, non-HD

Hi HO. We grapped a new notebook for Reen. AMD Turion 64x2 with 1G. Only 80GB HD though, but we only paid $699

After making a routine left turn from Broadway onto Burrard northbound, I was pulled over and coersed into thinking and possibly confusingly admitting I crossed the crosswalk line when it was red (or at most my front wheels crossed the line), only to not get a ticket, but only a warning, with some multiple choice mind games on the side.
I was totally sure I crossed the line when it was still yellow, and my car was definitely angled when it was still yellow. Then he went GTA and flew into the intersection to get me.
He also went on to say it'd be $167 if I ran a yellow or a red. But I got to thinking, when the **** am I support to turn if I can't turn on a green?!
I felt like I was in Super Troopers where the guy did most of the talking and didn't let me get a chance to *think* and then speak.

Mirage - that has much suck. I hate it when they play mind games like that. At least you didn't get a ticket. Did the car in front of you turn on a green light?
By the letter of the law, only one car can enter the intersection at a time, when making a left turn. For example, if you and a vehicle in front of you are making a left turn, only ONE car can be in the intersection, no matter how big and wide it is. Since in this scenario, you're the second car in line, you're suppose to wait behind the crosswalk until the other car clears the intersection.
In reality, if there's enough room to squeeze the front of a car into the intersection, most people do that. That way, they're "in" the intersection on a green, and have to complete the turn to allow traffic to flow when the light changes colour. The cops can still give the second person in line a ticket for being in the intersection though.
So I'm setting up Reen's new notebook. It doesn't come with a recovery CD - it has a hidden partition with the data on it. I guess that's how they save costs by not providing DVD recovery media. So much for the 80gig HD on it. I'd like to change the file system to NTFS

I'm convinced that writing Palm app has much sucked, although it would be cool if everything worked as intended

I was the only person turning, and it wasn't a "yellow, then start up and go" turn. It was a "headed towards the light to make the turn" turn. He prolly thought I was in a rush (cuz he did say I wasted 10 mins from rushing to where I was going which I didn't respond to - mind game - whatever lets him sleep at night), or I was running from him to begin with.. but what can you do right, can't live with them, can't live without them.
You're right, at least I didn't get a ticket.. but I am so confident it was a yellow when I got to the intersection that I wouldn't have minded getting a ticket and actually disputing it cuz I know I was right.

I think by the letter of the law, you need to stop at a yellow light. Whose got a drivers-ed book?
Anyway, Hi HO!
I "fubar'd" Reen's new notebook. I was playing with it this morning and popped in the recovery DVD I burned last nite. Well what-da-ya-know, it actually overwrites everything just like it says it would! I started the "reinstall" but since it was going to take almost 2 hours, I did a full power off. When I tried to reboot, it said "NTLDR not found". OOPS!
Oh well, now I know what it's like to go through the re-install process.
