I have some PHOENIX GOLD QX6e(60w cont./120w peak) fitted in a MY97 Impreza, they are around £160 !!!!!!!! but you get what you pay 4!!! It's nicer to have the better sound comming from the front rather then your back. They fit straight in and the Tweeter is just to the right of the speaker BUT had to cut the door speaker panel area to fit them in!!!!!
they sound fantastic,
and with Pioneer TS-E1799 (150w) in the rear it just finshes the sound off.
My head unit is a component unit so I use a 4-channel bridgeble Pioneer amp (output 140w+140w) to power them all.
Have you a bass box in the boot????
The added bass really sets you sound system off......
I will be there on Sunday, If you want to listen feel free to see me
RED IMPREZA

I'll have salsa-king on my side windows!!!!!

Thumbs up

Thanks a lot guys for the informative responses. I was hoping that I could buy a pair of speakers that I could just 'plug and play' without having to mess around with hacksaws and glue But I shall give it a go, £80 seems reasonable.

Lee, thanks a lot for the detailed reply, really appreciate it.
My main sound preference is my exhaust, so although I am a music lover, I dont want to start spending thousands on stereo equipment.
