Focal Speakers

I've just bought some Focal 165K kevlar component speakers for the front of my Impreza for £275.

I was talked into these by my ICE dealer instead of the Rockford Fosgates I wanted.

I know I should have asked this before handing over the dosh, but....

Anyone had any experiance, are they any good... or have I been ripped off..... again!

I've not yet picked them up, I get them tommorow, but that statement seems fair enough

found a little something in Car Stereo are they focal bora or minstrals as both of theese have 165k in there name but bora's are RRP £259.99 and minstrals are RRP £359.99. Hoping there the later

You have not been ripped off. there is always something to be gained by knowing someone in the business and yes, I could have got them slightly cheaper, but it probably would not have worth the aggro.

The speakers are among my favourites in fact I am devastated that I ever sold them as I have not been able to find anything that provides the same punch in the front of the car.

Hate to say it but rockford stuff in my opinion has always been sh1t. have said it before and will say it again. Specifically their amps and less so their speakers. Focal is in a different class and your dealer has asdvised you well. The proof of the pudding however is what they sound like and if you are happy then you have not been mugged off. i dont think you would have been as happy with the rockfords if you like the sound of the focals as they are simply the best at providing the type of sound that they do.

incidentally I only sold them because I found the tweeters a little too harsh.

Have to agree with Adam on this one.
Focal's are the nuts. The best thing about Rockfords? - The name (The boyracers love it!)

Just fitted the speakers today... and one word... awesome!!

Took me about five hours to fit including making the MDF spaces, so I haven't had time to fit my amps either. Even running off the head unit though the sound is amazing!!

I'll be fitting the amps tommorow so I'll see then how good they really are.

I can see what you mean about the tweeters Adam, but I quite like it.
