Us non-surgeons are a bit more subtle Martin. Surgeons are well known for being type A personalities, showing off, driving "sports cars" etc. The more subtle turn down the volume at traffic lights
Glad to see your bass a bit meatier these days Martin! Would be nice to hear sometime. What have I been up to ? - it seems work and that's it recently! Scooby now at 5500 and loosening up nicely. Will be organising skid pan session at Knockhill at some point.
No clues on this one - it happens to me. I just grin sheepishly and bear it. I also find that it's the bumper assembly that rattles the most, so try packing that out a bit.
The spoiler? No clues how to shut it up...
As for the mirror, nothing short of araldite will stop that sodding thing....

Sub vol control might be an idea.
Skid pan session sounds good. Had a go in the (empty!) car park at the gym when it was all snowy. Didn't quite manage a doughnut - more like an apple turnover.
Sub vol control. BTDTGTTTS. Sub amp is on the "non fading" output, so I can fade/augment/kill it from the head unit. I also have a bass cube to boost those tardy frequencies that just want to be absorbed.
I could probably set the bass cube's boost parameter to the resonant frequency of the spoiler....
It seems to be the high-level brake light that causes the embarasing vibrations on mine. I was thinking of experimenting with a cut-up section on bicycle inner-tube between the spoiler and the light. If I try it I'll let you know - obviously I can't hear it in the car but I stuck my head out the window looking for my mate outside a night club on Saturday night and realized what a horrible noise it make so it needs to be sorted, I was going to add a thread to this effect when I saw this one - spooky.
PS Limp Bizkit does a good job at causing this too - specially "rollin'"
Had the same problem. I was told it is the cable from the brake light rattling.
Cure 1; pipe lagging around the cable,undo the three screws from the underneath of spoiler,
Cure 2; stuff the spoiler full of bubble wrap.
I've done both and it seems to have worked, I have 2 x 1000watts subs with a 1200watt amp bridged into 600watts per sub.
Oh no, my car is turning into a heavyweight VW/BMW-mobile as I put more foam, sound deadening etc in - already my PWR has decreased by about 3% - but most of that is amps/sub etc!!! Soon I won't be able to accelerate away from these V6 156s - surprisingly fast one today and I didn't just whoosh past it like you can most traffic. I suppose they're only 30bhp/ton down with less transmission losses due to FWD vs AWD and when he is accelerating when you're overtaking up hill the speed difference may be present and increasing, but time to cover a distance to overtake is suprisingly long!
BTW this was all on a motorway at sensible speeds and not racing, just an observation of how difficult it was to pass as quickly as most traffic.
John, the plus point of all the foam and bubble-wrap and padding is that, in the unfortunate event of a crash, your car will just spring back into shape. No repairs necessary.
