Hi Guys,
Having just bought a 2005 Sti Type Uk, I'm now trying to sort insurance. I have just got my renewal through from Greenlight for my old car, and I therefor sent an email asking what the new ammended price would be for my new car. I'm happy enough with the quote I recieved but the one thing which was stated to me was 'The vehicle must have at least one catalytic converter fitted or pass a MOT and emissions test without them'. Now I have had Subaru's for years and have always had non cat exhaust's, all of which sailed through the MOT. But as my 05 car isnt due an MOT I enquired at the test centre today to see if I could put my 05 through the normal MOT process to simply have proof if would pass the emissions. Unfortunately they told me that unless the car was MOT age, I couldnt apply for an MOT. Can I ask has anyone ran across this problem before, and also what an insurance company would accept for proof of passing an emissions test ?
Cheers !
