Hi guys

Sorry for another insurance thread but i cant get my head around these daft prices ive been getting. Im 21 have got 3 years no claims on june 26th this month no points accidents etc but i cant get a qoute for under 2800. Im after a 2003/2004 wrx turbo no mods standard so i can do the mods myself when i have the cash. Im looking to buy mid juky but with the prices ive been getting i think im going to have to choose another car. Ive tried the money supermarket and that confused. Tried loads of online qoutes including that kieth mitcells one people on here talk about, they couldnt qoute me. who should i go with, and is there anyone else on here whos 21 with a wrx turbo who has a decent insurance price. I have a company car so the car isnt used at all during the week apart from the night time. My car at the min is a 2001 astra sri 1.8 16v. If theres any more information anyone needs to give me a rough price idea. Any information would be grateful as ive set my heart on an impreza. Cheers

if you havnt bought a car yet make sure you get a UK model - this will help lower the price of insurance

for young people a-plan are good and tony@greenlight (a member on here) is worth talking to

try adding someone older (30 above) as a second driver to your policy .

Yea im getting the uk model but ive done the quotes with uk reg plated wrx's and thats where im getting the silly prices from. Also tried with my dad who is 56 been driving since 17 no claims etc etc clean licence and the prices are nearly the exact same like 50 quid cheaper. Really dont want to have to change my car choice. Put tracker down, cat 1 alarm immob, it will be garaged everything that a company wants to here but no look.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't greenlight only quote if you've owned/driven a performance car for the last 12 months? That's what they said to me. Oh, and the astra won't count as this. I had a 1.8 coupe - I tried and failed lol
definitely going to price them up after a year of having the scoob though.

Oh the joy of being young. Thats why I didn't get my first proper performance car till I was over 25, even then the prices were high. I'm now in my early 30's, have 10 years no claims and after owning my scoob for just over 2 years now only pay just under £400 a year fully comp (still over double what I pay for the family car). Unfortunately its a case of either paying a four figure premium or waiting till you're older. C'est la vie i'm afraid :Whatever_
