Nah. There's just a lamp that lights for the fog lights - can't remember for the rear window switch - but a light comes in in the dash.

You're right - daft question..:-)

Writing?

If you mean the light symbols, then yes they should light up.

The switches for the fog lights and the heated rear window are different. If you take a fog switch out of the dash you should be able to see two plastic circles about 5mm across with slots moulded into them. These are the bases of the lamps. To get them out you need to turn them through about 90 degrees and then prise them out (a pin comes in useful here). One of them is for the indicator light that comes on when the light is on, the other is the switch illumination.

Getting at the bulb in the heated screen switch is a bit harder - you have to take the switch to pieces and then spend 20 minutes searching for the ball bearing that pings out. Once you've taken the switch apart the bulb is pretty obvious.

The bulbs for the fog switches are available from dealers (at a crazy price), but I've not yet tried for the heated screen
