I recently bought my first scooby, a Sti5 Type RA, and find the seat is giving me backache. Not enough support under the legs (to short) and backrest lumber support is to low down. Perhaps its because I’m 6’ 2” and the Japanese are much smaller!!! Might be because the seat is not positioned square.

Has anyone else had problems. If yes, what did you do.

I am considering changing the seat. Has anyone done this? If yes, what did you fit, what cost and where did you buy.

Many thanks for any help you can give.

I have an MY00 and find the offset position slightly strange.
I got very bad backache a short while after picking the car up from Holland.
Now I don't know if the STI5 seats are similar, but I have 2 adjusters on the side of the seat. The front one I have all the way clockwise (raising the front of the seat) and the rear one i have all the way anti-clockwise (lowering the back of the seat). This has removed all the pressure from the base of my spine and now I don't have any problem - in fact it's *very* comfortable now.
I don't have any lumber? adjuster.
Another tip I read was to move the whole seat backwards and forwards until your wrists are resting on top of the steering wheel with your arms straight out in front.
