Question

Need to brighten up the dash of my 97MY Turbo.

Has anybody fitted the coloured dial kit currently being offered by GGR?

The picture looks good but they do advise caution when fitting, is it as easy as it sounds?

Hi,
I fitted a white dial kit to my M-reg UK, and it was a bit tricky. I looked at some posts before i did mine, this happened probably Oct(ish)time. (Do a search on Dials!!)

Basic problem is fuel and temp gauge, you cannot remove the needles as they break off! So you have to cut a bit out of your dials to remove the current faces, and fit the new ones. Very tricky. (New gauges with dark front are at least 50 quid from Subaru UK if you bugger one!)

I managed to change one, but not the other. So i have 1 white, 1 dark!! (Quite funky i think!)
The rev and speedo needles were ok to remove and replace, but replacing the needles was an arse as i haven't been able to zero them properly after fitting new faces.

Does anyone have any suggestions to overcome that one??

Having said all that, they do look a lot nicer now!

Thumbs up

Stuart is right, however as a result of pioneering product development (Me & Pilch mainly I think).

Lockwood have altered the design of the dial kits so that you don't have to remove the needles from the temp & Fuel gauges to fit the new dials.

Mike.

It is indeed Ken. When you spell it out like that it does seem a lot dosn't it.

The picture on GGR website sold it to me, it improves the dash no end. Plus when I come to sell the less informed may think it's a face-lifted 98my car and not the 97my that it is.

I can live in hope!

Ken,

I think that may have been a typo by GGR. I think the coloured dash kits are in fact about 1/10 the price you were quoted at about £45+VAT. There are several suppliers for them (I think Scoobymania and Falkland Performance Centre also sell them amongst others).

I assume we are talking about the same thing here, with stick on covers for the speedo, rev counter fuel and temp gauges ?

Thats what I hoped !! I find the white on black difficult to read at night so thought that the change of colour might help

I'm planning a trip to Glenrothes as soon as I can get a Saturday off ! I prefer to see before I buy.

You got a decimal wrong. They are £52 all in. I have got mine today, a lockwood kit, they are first class.
Full instructions on how to remove the fingers and recalibrate.
They are new dials not stickers!

Well impressed.
