Question

The interior light comes on when I reverse! I presume this is not a design feature !

That is truly special

The interior light circuit normally works by grounding the circuit when the doors open (ie a pin makes contact with the car's metal)

Somehow, somewhere, your reverse light switch has got entangled with the interior light???

I don't know where the switch for the reverse light is - anyone help with that one?

If it's in warranty, I'd take it to your dealer as this may be quite some fun.

That's quite funny!

Do the reversing lights come on when you open the doors, if they do just turn the car inside out - problem solved

My interior light comes on when I take a sharp left-hand corner. Figured out the g's were pushing my arm against the rest strong enough to bend the plastic and let the sensor think the door was open!

Not so strange , but Japanese car electrics
are usually second to none (unlike certain
Italian or French cars).

Had something a bit like that in my Golf VR6
whenever the drivers heated seat switch was
turned on the main left headlight would go out (this VW was soon replaced by present Impreza '99) .

May be it was a Monday morning car
