WRX vs STi seats, are STI longer (F to R)/
|
|
Does anyone know if STI seats are any longer than WRX (MY03/4)? I am 6'2" and the WRX originals are a little short. Have chance of STI interior.
many thanks
Pete

Thank Nathan,
Looks like I'll have to fit Porsche seats to get the extra support (££!!)

What support is it you need?
I'm 6'04 and although the seats are a little short in the leg I find the overall driving position excellent.

the seats in the wrx are shocking - I have an MY04 and am disgusted that I can't replace them without invalidating warranty - hmm i might need to check up on that actually.
there's not enough lateral support - my old prelude vtec had much grippier seats

Nathan,
Sat back is great, but I find the base a little uncomfortable. Thought is was because it was too short, but tried STI seats and found them much more comfortable as they were firmer. Will go that way, I think (Porsche seeats we very expensive).
Cheers
Pete

I fitted the sti interior too to my wrx much better. Only paid 500 for full interior inc carpet seat belts air bag and other plastic trim and boot carpet. All from a rally prep, may be able to get another one if anyone wants one.

Woah, are you sure?
Just to be precise; That's 2 front seats, rear seat, all the seatbelts (door panels?) air bag (from steering wheel?) and the carpet for £500? Let me know if you can get another, may well be interested.
Cheers
Pete
p.s. is that almost new?

I'd be interested in that also - only just want the front and rear seats plus airbag fix...

You dont get the steering wheel air bag but the passenger one, i will forward an email address when i get back from my holidays on tuesday. This kit is all brand new and the seats still had the plastic wrappers on them. The carpet is a dark blue as well on the new STIs. Looks great in the car.

James,
could be a good deal in here - I actually would prefer to have just door cards/panels. How about buying one set and I buy the door cards/carpet?
Pete
p.s. I you want my details, I can PM them.

Mark,
sounds great - James wants the seats & airbag, I want door cards & maybe carpet (I have some seats now). If you can PM details, I will arrange with James and see if we can get one set and split it (if James is OK with that).
many thanks
Pete

Yeah we can maybe do a deal. How shall we do this? I only need the seats - I was refering to the airbag 'fix' to stop the airbag fault light coming on...

Mark,
Thanks for you help. Will wait for details.
James, I need to do airbag fix too, so will let you know how I do it (2 x 3.3 ohm resistors and some way to fit them). No worries
