Getting my new Defi's today and currently searching for any links with 'DIY fitting instructions' to help me on my install. The only one I know off the top of my head was Chiarks site but the links I've found dont seem to be working. Can anyone help ????

I'm fitting mine at this very minute.. with a stinking cold.. in the rain. :(

I'm gna try to do mine this weekend....

Started mine this evening. Got gauges in and working, and hooked up boost gauge. Mine arent defi's but the links have helped sooo much. Guna hook up the oil press & temp tomorrow night.

One question, i have took the car out for an run and the boost gauge flickers like crazy under load and you cannot tell what its reading unless its at zero. Any ideas why? or is it just because im using cheeper gauges maybe?
The only thing i have had to do slightly different is tap into boost hoses about 6 inches from the gold unit as with new engine in and its new location, it was too tight to get any closer.

Also, a stupid question but whats the need for a negative reading on the boost gauge?

Negative because you should be reading vacume when off boost.

The flickering is probably deu to the cheaper gauge. You will get some degree of flickering with any gauge as the wastegate is constantly changing positions to try and maintain target boost. You get what you pay for I suppose.

The WRXtra instructions have the oil pressure sender connected under the top mount, the Defi instructions show it under the alternator.

Does it matter which one it goes in? :)

Dont read any vacume at all, the gauge never goes below zero?? Ill see if i can get a video of it and post it up on here?

try a longer piece of hose and T-piece into the fuel pressure regulator pipe on the inlet manifold, you are reading the boost control solenoid working to control the boost. Mine sounded like a rattlesnake ! ! !

The fpr is at the front of the engine on the end of the fuel-rail, a short hose goes to the inlet manifold.

Dunx, bit of a problem, my engine aint standard, from this pic can you tell me where i need to be tapping into. I have tapped into the pipe you've described which is under the air filter from this angle, running from that gold unit to under the black cover on the left side of the engine bay, which im guessing the solnoid is under?
