Lift lid, unscrew hinges. IIRC.

Or it might be that you have to remove the cubbyhole entirely, then unscrew the hinges, then replace cubbyhole base.
Removing cubbyhole is easy: prize up two screw covers, unscrew, then pull like hell towards rear of car. It sometimes helps to loop some string/wire/rag through the cubbyhole catch.

Sorry to be a bit vague, it's years since I did mine

open cubby hole, lift 2 plastic covers and 2 screws, pull unit forward including the heater vents.

it will also unclip the center console trim around your stereo, so if u want remove that 1st. lift storage lid at end of centre console, remove screws and lift panel away, all clipped in. handbrake and gear stick trim, then center console trim and finally cubby trim. the center console trim needs to be out in order to put top cubby hole and vents back in.

to remove cubby hold lid remove 2 screws at rear

As far as I'm aware the top pocket is one unit lid and base.

To remove I undid the two screws inside then grabbed hold of the metal 'clip' where the lid attaches to the base, then pull HARD rearwards.

It will clatter out with a disconcerting noise, but don't worry, everything will be fine!

To put it back just line it up with where it came from and push back until it clicks into place.
