Thanks again Mrk and Stormy, awesome awesome awesome trip. Still laughing about so much, especially watching Hugh, one Exige, the French toll barrier, and about 5 euros in change come flying out the passenger window,....... then another 5 come flying out when the barrier didn;t go up.
Absolutely must agree. Big thanks to Mrk, Stormy and Hugh. What a fantastic week. Great locations, amazing views and sceenery, good food and rather too much to drink (every night), good company and some new friends.
As for the roads. Euro Blast is supposed to be a challenge and this year we have driven every type of road imaginable from flat out in second gear for 30 minutes on Spain's most twisty road to flat out in top gear (again) on the German autobhan.
Also thanks to the brilliant sense of humour of the group, some jokes, p*** taking and laughs and we will remember for a long time:
Thunderbirds are Go
Waaaa..tshhhh..pop
Uphill and downhill mountain passes
Keifee and Orvil
Cymbal playing mountain monkeys...tink tink tink
The slightly bumpy Lotus sauna

I'm in the process of putting something together for SIDC/True Grip, if anyone wants to add to my ramblings then please do, I could also use some good pics, anything with all of us at dinner or similar, mine are all either car based or scenary based. Could you PM any pics/writtings to me and I'll be eternally greatfull
Cool vid Rog. Looking forward to seeing some more. Also, lets have your fuel costs and economy figures please. What does it cost to go: Waaaaah...tshhhhh....pop for 4000miles
Phil. Will send you some pics a.s.a.p.
Martin. If your reading this. You can't hide forever. Pretend you havn't got a bank manager for a few minutes and get those fuel cost and economy figures up... so the rest of us can feel a bit better about what we have just spent.

Tony
Speeding Fines: £45
Road Tolls: £50
Petrol: £800
Going Vvvvrrrroooommm... Tssshhhhh... BANG for 4000miles: Priceless
COULD YOU LET ME NO THE TOTAL COST OF THE TRIP AS ID LOVE TO DO THIS NEXT YEAR
STU
The total cost is something we all hide from, if you know it you won't go
That said, the single traveller option this year was £699, plus about £600 - £800 on fuel, plus about £500 spending money, plus any servicing/upgrades to the car before we go.
Probably about £2000 - £2500 over an 8 month period leading up to the trip.
Don't let that put you off though, its the best holiday you will probably ever have, some fantastic drives, with great people, and just pmsl everynight with the banter over a few beers and dinner.
Slight problem, it only runs every two years so you'll have to wait for 2011 for the next one. There is always Eurocombo though. Keep an eye on the trackmasters web site for details.

Finally got my pics onto my PC last night - will have a sort through them over the next couple of days and see what I've got in the way of 'crowd shots'. I've also got shots of a few people going round Pau Arnos too.
Haven't got enough records to give a total mileage/fuel bill, but think mile-wise it'll be in the same ballpark as Tony and Phil, but may have used a little less fuel, as I seemed to be getting a bit further between fill-ups. Still think the bill would be around the £700 mark though.
But it was well worth every penny.
All the figures are approximate ( because I lost count ) .
Total Mileage : 3000
Fuel used : 210 gallons
Cost : £1026.41
Fuel Usage : 14.25 mpg
Now I know it get in the region of 20 mpg on a motorway run so I reckon well into single figures on the passes
I'm off for a lie down .......
martin
Ouch... That must be almost as painful as your hangover on the sunday morning after we apparently lost all sense and were buying cans from the hotel vending machine until 04:00
Hhhmmmm still trying to work out why vending machine Heineken seemed so attractive ....... At the time it seemed like the best idea in the world
I've realised that I've worked out my mpg wrong ..... I took Tony's average cost per gallon and divided it in to my total fuel bill to get an approximate number of gallons . I've remembered that the RX8 runs on 95ron so I'm getting more gallons to the pound ...... and less MPG excellent
Couple of you want to order a few more, for those of you who picked shirts of me on the trip, would be grateful if you could pay for them when you get a mo. In additon I have one white large T shirt never claimed.
So did you ever get the Aston then Marv? I've got two mates bought them recently, one DB9 the other Vantage, both Very Nice
So what Scooby have you got now?
Stu
Hi Stu,
Didn't go for an Aston in the end, tried them out and although they're great cars, there's no Aston 'family' like we have here in scoobyland
So you missed this one too did you mate? Eurocombo next year?
Stormy - not been a good year for me so far, my old man passed away a couple of months back and my mum isn't too good healthwise either. Sorry I missed it tho mate, eurocombo looks good for next year, keep me on your mailing list for that one. Authum trip to the ring, mmmmmm let me know the details
